  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Q. Can you teach me to juggle?
    A. Sure, check out this tutorial!

    Q. Are Brontosaurus Balls beanbags?

    A.  No. They are completely different types of ball, so you may notice a difference if switching from beanbags. Brontosaurus Balls are made to be a type of “Russian Ball”.

    Q. What are Russian balls?

    A. Russian balls are a design of juggling ball that use the energy from your throws to distribute sand within a ball in a way that causes the mass to spread out and give a more even throw. This allows for a much more accurate toss, especially when thrown high, and makes for a ball lighter than a beanbag that looks excellent on stage. The name is a misnomer as this style of ball was first used in Kiev by Ukrainian circus performers.

    Q. Can I order Brontosaurus Balls! in a different weight?

    A. Yes. Simply send us a message with what you have in mind and we can work something out.

    Q. Do you accept returns?

    A.  No. Unfortunately, because of abuse of the return policy in the past, we can no longer accept returns. If your balls are damaged from shipping, an exception can be made for an exchange of the broken/damaged balls to either be repaired or replaced entirely. This is allowed within 2 weeks of receiving your order. Other than these exceptions, all sales are final.

    Q. Can I buy balls on the site and pick them up locally or at a festival.

    A. Absolutely! As long as it’s a festival we’ll  be attending that is. Simply send us an email and we can get the logistics worked out.

    Q. How long do these balls generally last?

    A. It’s not uncommon for people to have a set for more than 3 years of rigorous juggling, but some have even gone through balls in as little as 3 months. The answer really depends on your juggling style, and the environment you juggle in the most.

    Q. When will I receive my Brontosaurus Balls?

    A.  We try to ship balls within a week of purchase, but when there are lots of orders it can take up to two weeks. We ship balls on Monday and Friday usually. (Sidenote: I perform full time and make balls to support the community, so shipping can be affected by my performance schedule. -Sam)

    Q. What is the best way to contact you if I have more questions?

    A. Email is generally the best way for festivals to contact us about donations. For the general public, Facebook and Instagram are your best bet for a quick response.

    Q. Any tips for learning 5?

    A. Practice. Throw higher. Be patient. Do endurance. Follow those steps and you’ll be on the fast track to success.
